Guess What

- Guess what...this is what you agreed to when you signed the loan documents, and this is what every other dealer would be expecting as well.
There was nothing in the agreement that stated that the payments you owe could end if you no longer had the car or it become undriveable. Whether it was in an accident, stolen, or taken into space by aliens..you are still responsbile.
They are not your parents, they are not a charity. They are a business that deals with "Sub-Prime" borrowers who are only there because they have not proven they can handle credit. They are under no oblgiation to help you get your car fixed or get you into another car. If they do..great. But The fact that you are actally calling it a RipOff because they are not is a good indication of why you are with them in the first place. As you have a basic lack of understanding of credit.
Now, what should be paying off this car is the insurance..your regular policy and hopefully the GAP insurance you purchased. If the accident was the other parites fault, then you need to get on them to pay. Until then..you are still 100% responsible for the payments.
I will help you a bit on one thing. Don't let them or any dealer "help" you into a new car by taking your old car and paying off the loan. As what they
will do is just roll that amount into your new loan, making you even more upside down on the next car.
