I drove 1 hour away to apply for car off an offer I seen on Craigslist. The offer is a complete scam! They told me they are income based and my household makes more than enough income to established a vehicle lease. Have 2 cars pay off on our credit as well. Just to be told they would not give me a car cause I'm expecting soon and would not be able to drive. I was more than disgusted with Josh when told this, that was demeaning and untasteful to tell a woman. Also, goes along with discrimination.

Even after telling me I can provide proof of income after baby is born they would work with me I walked away. I would not want to do business with any business who thinks it's okay to tell a pregnant woman who works fulltime and currently paying $1600 a month to rent a car that I would not be able to afford it after the baby comes and would not be able to drive. This is not all helping a person who needs a vehicle more than ever to transport a baby back and forth from hospital visits, daycare and etc. While meanwhile still going back to work full time.

I will never recommend them to anyone this was a complete total waste of 4 hours sitting there just to be discriminated and humiliated for my condition of pregnancy. I'm currently trying to find a way to possible sue for this. That was just so distasteful, and for a person who graduated from Business School I will not tolerate this type of behavior from a establishment at all.

I have attached pictures below if you see this advertising on Craigslist I advice you to not even call or bother it's complete false advertising just to get you in to put in application for the monthly goals they have up on board in they office. I've worked sales for 7 years and the goals is not always to sale a car just applications is another step to the sales quotas as well.

Are you leasing a golden chariot for $1600 a month?

AUTHOR: coast - (United States)

POSTED: Wednesday, April 25, 2018

Your credit is so poor that a subprime dealer declined your loan request. You drove an hour to Akron even though Cleveland is only 20-minutes away. Were you unable to acquire a loan in Cleveland?

A new Mercedes can be leased for $500-$1000 a month so what are you leasing for $1600 a month?

There is no discrimination but there is more to this story.

Let's look at a few of your keywords

You say you are a Business School Graduate(based on how you wrote this I really wonder what Business School), 2 cars paid off, and more than enough to meet the income requirement.  So why would you drive over an hour to go to a SUB-PRIME lender?  With two cars paid off, why are you renting a car for $1600/month?

There seems to be some things you are leaving out.

I am not going to go into what they did or did not say about your pregnancy because I was not there and we are only hearing one side of the story. But while they generally are not be allowed to use your pregnancy as a reason, if you are going to take maternity leave and have a drop in income they MAY be able to use that as a reason for denial. Because this could affect YOUR ability to pay.

You talk about "household" income. Nothing in the ad stated "household" income so that would figure it was meant to be your income. Why did you not bring your husband with you as the co-signer?

You Went To Business School???

AUTHOR: Perry Mason - (United States)

Please tell us, using all your "business education", the wisdom behind getting involved in a CAR FLEASE for a used car! Since you have ALL this education, I guess you must have missed the classes which discussed the use of such words as "establish", "because", "paid". In your whining here, you make NO MENTION of additional income from a husband.

No doubt, you're still another UNWED MOTHER popping out kids and a drain on state and federal resources. Granting of credit depends upon the ability to repay the loan. You can claim whatever you want now, but nobody knows what will happen after the baby is born with regard to your ability/willingness to work. Of course, one second after childbirth, you may be all too willing to dump the child into daycare because you don't want to be a responsible mother, just like thousands and thousands of UNWED MOTHERS like you do. Yep...what a wonderful example of responsibility!
