I love collecting Invicta watches but I hate using their customer service/repair services.  I sent in a new Reserve level watch to have the strap replaced in March 2014 (carefully following their directions) and have not received my watch yet (July 2014).  When I sent the watch, I had removed the metal bracelet and included the rubber strap in the packaging.  I decided to use Invicta rather than my local jeweler because the watch was brand new and I didn't want to take the chance of voiding the warranty.

I've checked the 'track case' online site on several occassions and even sent an email to try to get a status but I haven't had any news since late-March.  Finally, I tried calling (July 9) and was told it will take at least another month or two for the watch to be returned to me.  It seems a bit excessive for the installation of a rubber watch strap to take 5-6 months.  I'll keep this site posted if/when there is any news or progress.  In the meantime, avoid using Invicta's repair service, if possible!

Update: Watch Received

AUTHOR: BobbyRio - ()

POSTED: Monday, July 14, 2014

July 16th Update:

Today, I received the Invicta watch that I'd sent to have a watch strap installed; nearly 4 months to the day after Invicta's service department received it.  It appears that the new Invicta strap that I'd purchased separately and supplied was installed properly (I had removed the metal band that was originally on the watch myself prior to sending it to Invicta).

Oddly, previous to purchasing the watch, Invicta had included the installation tool along with both the strap and band.  The two bands (strap and band) deal was no longer offered by Invicta when I purchased the watch.  I preferred the strap and purchased the strap (from Invicta) separately, removed the metal band and sent the watch and rubber strap to Invicta.  Nearly 4 months after they'd received the watch, I was finally able to talk to an Invicta service representative who informed me that the watch had needed a part that wasn't available and that it would take another 1-2 months to get the watch strap installed.  To be fair, I don't know if in the process of sending watch and strap to Invicta a part might have been lost and that this particular part was in short supply.  I can't imagine what that part could have been but two days after the conversation, I was notified that the watch with installed strap was being shipped back to me.

As I said, in my original post, I love collecting Invicta watches.  I love the styles, quality and value of their watches!  However, paying $28 shipping and handling fee and waiting 4 months for them to install a watch strap is expensive and doesn't reflect positively on their customer service.  I probably could have paid my local jeweler less money and had the watch within a few days.  In the future, I plan to use my jeweler for any service my watches might require and save the headaches of dealing with Invicta's service department for major warranty repairs (which fortunately has never happened).
