Where to start! I noticed a similar report about this dealership... That 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP... I bought that! And they claimed they didnt know anything about the oil pan gasket, intake manifold gasket, valve cover gasket, head gasket. Or anything else along those lines. They would not talk the price down and also didnt let me drive it until the day of purchase.

Im young and still learning. This is my first encounter with a dealership like this. Im from Boone Iowa small town were everything is straight forward and honest. The first oil change I had on this car was a mechanics nightmare. He quoted me $1300 in just gaskets alone. The car wouldnt hold a quart of oil if its life depended on it... but funny how that didnt start showing up until about four or five days after I got it home.

Also they charge 20 dollars late fee if your payment doesnt go through? Both times my money was in the account and some reason wouldnt be taken out so I got charged both times. And just now my car was taken from me (repossesed) They also told me I could not take my stereo system or anything attached... well I took everything besides my wires hooking the system up. I took my deck, subs, headlight covers and anything else. This is the first day it was taken and I will be doing something about this. RIP OFF!

What A Joke.

Paul Moyer - Extreme Auto Plaza Rip Off Paul Moyer - Extreme Auto Plaza- Lies Boone Iowa

Well, Now Paul Moyer got on here and wrote his Rebuttal because I gave them a visit today about my car. He tells you I was late on Payments, which is true because I spent more money on replacing things and fixing this car then anything else!

Replaced Intake Boot - Didn't Supply Right Boot (Wasn't Connected To Throttle Body) -
No Filter Inside - Leaves & Debris In Throttle Body Filter
Misfire on Cylinder Three - Replaced all Spark Plugs and Wires.
Both Corner Lenses Burnt Out & License Plate Light Bulb
Motor Mount Bolt Missing On left Dog Bone.
Windshield Wipers Spray Doesn't Work.
Horn Didn't Work - Replaced Fuse.
Replaced Rear Brakes - Rear Left Brake Was Wearing Uneven
Right Front Door- Panel Trim Came Loose With in a Week.

He tells you that Im a KID that beat on this car and thats why these things are wrong with it? What about the Older couple before me that bought this vehicle and it broke down on them too. He claims it was due to a faulty oil change because they did it themselves. Well I have reciepts and quotes from a GM certified dealership that shows that the oil was changed and that this car in fact needs work done. In the other report he clearly says in hes Rebuttal that his mecahnic took off the oil pan .. Well they assured me that they had no idea about this problem until now... Funny how that works! I have pletny of proof that shows I did nothing but cleaned this car, took care of this car, and loved this car. The only thing I changed on this car was appearance and added a sound system.

Pat Clemons Oil Change -
Took in for my first oil change on the car because Extreme Auto Plaza doesnt change the oil for you. When I asked them how soon should I change the Oil they simply said " I suggest to all customers to change oil immidiatley" ! Well I took the car in and the mechanic looked at me like he had just seen a ghost. Pulling his hair out! Oil Pan Gasket, Lower Intake Manifold Gasket, Head Gasket, and Valve Cover Gasket all needed replaced. Quoted me $1300 - $1500 Just looking at it. Told me that he would take it home and park it so I did.

I called Extreme Auto Plaza to discuss these problems he told me to take it in for a Rocker Gasket... Which was a recall on all the cars. They claim that they thought that they would fix the problem. They also INSURED me that they would fix my car for a fraction of the price of any other dealership... Oh well let me jump on that and give them MORE of my money. Yeah Right.

Today when I asked them about the Previous owners of this 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. They let me know that it was of course that couples fault bcz there was no oil in it. Well i truly doubt that the husband willingly drove it with no oil. My guess is that the oil pan gasket was bad it leaked on its trip to illinois . I do believe that they sold that car knowingly that it had a bad engine. Paul Moyer mentioned that he put a new engine in this car... well in that case I would imagine it wouldnt be covered in sludge from oil burning on the intake manifold. There was also an adapter from an after market intake on the throttle body which was why i had to replace it... do you think they would have bought the right boot ? Nope.

Suprises!:D

Get half way home - Check Engine Light Comes On.
Get home and remove plastic covers from carpet- Huge hole in drivers side floor.
Get pulled over due to burnt out license plate bulb!:D
Go to check intake filter.... NO FILTER:D
Take Car in for $30 Oil Change.. Leave with a quote of $1300 for gaskets.
Go To Check Brakes... Back Left Looked like a Handicap ramp!
But BEFORE I could fix my brakes I had to have Locks Ripped Off by Pat Clemons because Extreme Auto Plaza Didnt Supply The Key to them.

Extreme Auto Plaza Is FULL Of Suprises:D

While trying to figure something out today to get car back I come to find out that I get to Pay $1100 to get it back :D Yay! And they just cant buy my car back because his lot is to full.... Hmmm due to bad dealership? Cars not selling?

Bottom line Extreme Auto Plaza Sold Me a LEMON! They knew of all these problems and I did NOT beat on my car.

BEWARE OF DEALERSHIPS LIKE THIS ONE!!!!!!

AUTHOR: Lilsis50036 - (U.S.A.)

As the mother of this so called "KID" who Pual Moyer is discussing in his rebutal, I want to warn ANYONE who is considering walking into this business or is considering buying a vehicle from this business to turn around ar better yet RUN!!! I know for a fact that they sucked this wide-eyed "KID" into buying a used vehicle that had been sold before, brought back and was severly damaged before he bought it. He did not create the damage himself. He treated that car like a new born baby! Nor was any of the information disclosed beforehand or even admitted to until AFTER we pulled out the reports we printed up off this site! Kurt knew something was wrong after a few short days of bringing the car home and did the resposible thing and took the car into to a dealership here in Boone. The mechanic at the shop told him the car was a nightmare!!! Upon discovering this Kurt contacted Extreme Auto Plaza and of course those words that we all see them using came out. "We have no knowledge of this", "We have been in business 15 years", "It was the consumers fault not ours" Businesses like these prey on the weak and inexperienced unfortunately at the age of 18 my son saw what he wanted and went for it believing everything he was told. Now this company has his life savings and for what? As for auctioning it off. Thats a funny statement becuase it was listed on auto trader for sale the very next day even stating "Drives like new!" We printed that up also. As for the payments he was only one payment behind and the money is still sitting in the bank along with the next one that was due. Please! Please! Anyone who is looking to buy a car or has a young son show them these reports and make them aware that these things really do happen. They will tell you everything you want to hear and then strike at the first chance they get to make a lot of money at your exspense.

Beware of customers like this

AUTHOR: Extreme Auto Plaza - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, June 10, 2009

We did in fact sell this 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP to the complaintant. The car in question did not leak oil when we sold it. The customer did get to test drive it before purchasing it. Our mechanic says the rear main leak is the majority of the oil leak which usually is caused from excessive full throttle High Speed abuse. The fact that the buyer (18 year old kid) didn't get to test drive this car until the day of purchase it is true and he test drove the car before purchasing it, and he has his father with him at the time. We don't allow anyone to test drive vehicles with super charged engines or sport cars until they are ready to buy, We do this to make sure the vehicles are kept in shape for the next owner, However they are allowed to test drive before they buy or have it looked by a shop to insure that is what they are looking for and want. out in these types of cars for the very reason that this car didn't last more than 4 or 5 days according to the kid himself. It actually must have been a pretty Good Vehicle to last that long and have only the oil leak problem.

Late fees were actually NSF fees because this kid not only didn't make his payments because of returned checks (NSF) but eventually the Good car he tore up got repossessed and now we're left to either take it to the auction and loose alot of money and / or see this kid in court to recupe a huge loss on this car that had this kid not tore up and abused would have made not only a Good car for someone but also a Good Customer.

We have been in business here for over 15 years and have 30 years experience in the used car business. We have alot of repeat customers and sell alot of great vehicles here. If you're in the market you can check out our website, Extremeautoplaza.com.

Thank you,
Paul Moyer 515-266-3300

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Don't Do This Again, EVER!

AUTHOR: Jim - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, June 09, 2009

Dear Kurt:

I can appreciate this being your first car and hopefully you really are open to learning about the process since you have many more cars ahead of you!

First and foremost...

Remember, the dealer needs you...you DON'T need the dealer. Without YOU, they don't make the sale and get their profit. DO NOT ever go into a dealership "hat-in-hand" ready to accept any crumb they throw you. Most people do that, just read thru these reports!

Having said that, lets review a few things...

You said they wouldn't "let" you test drive the car. Why did you accept that? Didn't that throw up some RED flags? At that point, you should have simply WALKED OUT. They are so used to people playing doormat, they do these things and in so many cases, they get away with it! So Kurt, in the future, whenever the dealer does something you don't like or appears fishy or dishonest, WALK OUT!
Remember...YOU don't need them...THEY NEED YOU!

You also voiced consternation regarding the fees. All this is contained within the finance contract. Did you read what you signed, BEFORE you signed it? Your signature means you agree to all the terms of the contract AND you agree to make every payment on time, every time. If you don't like the terms of the contract, then you shouldn't sign the contract.

Kurt...

You are in an excellent position to become a smart consumer in regard to cars. Read thru these reports and you will see primarily how people VOLUNTEER to be a door mat and as such, get defraud by those who have a history of fraud/deception.

In summary...I PLEAD with you to never, ever again go thru the doors of any dealership with the attitude that you must be SUBSERVIENT to them. Again, you don't need them...THEY NEED YOU! If they won't treat you right and with TOTAL HONESTY and INTEGRITY...then WALK OUT. Otherwise, you send them the following message: "I am a doormat. I am a sucker and chump. Come on, defraud me."

I have very fond memories of your part of the world! The best people I've ever encountered were from southeastern Iowa and the best pizza I've ever had, I bought in Ottumwa.

Be well!
