On Oct. 18, 2008_ A man knocked on my door, he stated that he was delivering Furniture to the next town over and when they got there the store went out of Business, their Boss told them not to haul all that stuff back, and sell it to people at a discount price with a warrenty. So they ask you to come out and look, so I did, we just bought a new built house and of coarse who doesn't need new furniture at that point! when I got out to the truck he had a book, and he told you what he had and you can pick what you like. These guys were GOOD! they had me and the others here sold! We bought some stuff and so did all the neighbors they said we set up we take out your old stuff, I should have gotten the hint, TO GOOD TO BE TRUE! well they did thye worked VERY quick.I'm thinking just good service! NOT! after that they said thye take checks only, so they said write the check to FR English, this was the owner of the company, so I did. they gave me a receipt it looked real, they circled a phone number were I could call if anything went wrong with the Furniture!

Well after they left I realized there was some stuff wrong with it,a lot of scratchs and holes, that were covered with old english furniture polish, I called the number no one answered so thinking it was a Saturday and after 5pm, I should call Monday, I did, to find out the number was no good, there is no warrenty on the stuff there is no one on the other line! well I called my bank and stopped payment on the check, well they went to the bank and tryed to cash it as a personal person, well they called I told them to come to the house and I'd give them cash! well when they Got here I had the police here! well the cop told me to make a check out to the Carolina Furniture company , so I did! Well the next day they called again cause they went to my bank with a ID and tryed to cash a check they tried to make changes too! Well my bank already knew what was going on so they would not cash the check and told them it was a Business check and It had to be deposited into a business account,I have furniture that has damage all over and I would have rather kept my own, well they took mine with them, remember FREE REMOVAL! So watch Out they are riding around in a 18 wheeler that is rented! With Damaged Furniture you can't have fixed!

#1 REBUTTAL Owner of company

Absolutely, "NOT TRUE"

AUTHOR: FR English - ()

POSTED: Friday, May 31, 2013

This lady was a real nut case, I seriously mean it. To begin with, Mrs. MaryAnn (I won’t use her last name) wrote the first check on a “closed account” from Bank of America. And yes we did go to her house because she would not answer the phone. When we got there, she had a note on the door saying; go away I don’t want any more furniture. So we called the police. The police told MaryAnn she had two choices. Write a good check on an open account or she would be charged with writing a bad check by our company etc. We asked the police to let us pick up our furniture but MaryAnn insisted she wanted to keep the bed room suite, a Vaughan Bassett. She had disposed of her old one by having the neighbor boys throw it in a dumpster. It was a new neighborhood and dumpsters were about. She tried to tell the police that we took her old suite. But the police verified that also was not true by her neighbors. So under protest, we accepted another check from MaryAnn. (It’s not hard to see through this, she had cash for us but the police made her write us another check, yea ok.) Anyway, the second check was not sufficient and we filed charges on MaryAnn. Once the court date came around, MaryAnn asked us through a detective to come back to Connecticut and pick up the furniture in question. We did not trust anything she said based on our experience with her. We declined, it was not worth the drive to Connecticut and the furniture was used at that point. We never showed up for court. Not sure what happened, I imagine the case was dropped. Anyway, I can tell you this is a false claim and not true. Furthermore, the truth is recorded on or about October 18, 2008 in the police and court records of Waterbury, Connecticut.
