re: Active Brightening Face Serum & Adaptive Eye Complex Anti Aging Eye Cream (the same marketing company)

these two products are marketed in tandem on line. i do not know for sure if the product works but the marketing technique is an aggressive highly sophisticated scam.  by agreeing to pay nominal shipping charges of about $8 they enroll you in a trial period basically without clearly revealing that and after the trial period expires in about 10 days (which you never knew existed) they automatically charge your credit card as much as $180 ($89 for each product shipped in my case).  This totally unexpected charge caused my account to be overdrawn which is what brought this scam to my attention.  upon talking to my bank in person and on line about the over draft and asking what caused it they showed me the two $89 unauthorized charges but explained that they could not stop or reverse the charges even though they were still pending and that only the merchants (the scammers) could do that and told me that i needed to contact the merchant directly to work out a refund through them which I promptly did once I got home. a different 877 customer service phone number was listed on each product so i had to call them both.  when talking to their representatives they gladly agreed to terminate my enrollment but told me emphatically that the company did not issue refunds even though i offered to return the products which were still sealed.  big dead end there. my bank said for me to call them back if the company refused to refund my money and they would file a claim which is where it stands now.  information on these pukes is hard to come by, ie: no hard address or company info except for the 877 numbers to file a complaint.

my guess is that because the company can point to the fact that I had agreed to these terms (knowingly or not) in the extremely fine print which was never disclosed when i ordered the products this fact legally allowed them to  do what they did (steal my money).  so i do not hold much hope in getting my $180.00 back through the bank either.  i am not sure what legal recourse i have or who i can call to report this and put them out of business.  There must be others who have been scammed by this same outfit and a class action lawsuit could be brought.

their conscience may not bother them but bad karma has a way of providing wonderful paybacks.  may they rot in hell.
