I purchased concert tickets online from ticketmaster.com in April. In May and in June I received $7.00 charges on my credit card from "Entertainment Rewards". I never heard of them. They claim that when I purchased the concert tickets I also purchased a subscription to their coupon service (which I never received, never had access to, and never even knew I was supposed to have access to). I called them and disputed the charges and they refuse to issue a refund.

My credit card company refunded me the amount and is investigating. This company somehow piggybacks onto ticketmaster.com orders. The amount they charge each month is low and on a different date each month so most users would not even notice the charge and are never made aware that they have the company's 'service.'

If this happens to you call your credit card company immediately and dispute. File a complaint with the BBB in Troy Michigan. Also file a report on here to let people know about this fraud. This company was shut down once before and has reopened under a new name. I wonder how many thousands are being charged and do not realize it. They were very adamant about saying I had authorized the charge when I purchased concert tickets but I know for a fact I did not. This company is unethical and criminally fraudulent. The CEO and company officials should be jailed. The scope of this scam is massive and conducted in such a way as to not draw attention to it (small $7.00 charge on a different day each month... only the most meticulous would notice).

people should be aware

I would like to include that ticketweb does not make it obvious a consumer is signing up for another product.  Yes, customers are shown the coupon for the next purchase but it still appears that we are only purchasing tickets--- not signing up for a monthly entertainment reward.  I would also like to add that Entertainment publications did not send emails to my account showing any of my "rewards".  Nor did Entertainment Publications send me any information to my address. On my credit card, Entertainment Rewards does not offer a valid phone number.  Only through Google and online websites do I find out that Entertainment Rewards is Entertainment Publications.  When I log in to my Ticketweb account, there is no mention of any purchases other than the 2 tickets... nothing on my account which shows an additional purchase to Entertainment Publications.  When I call Ticketweb, the customer service person says she can not help me with anything on my website.  I have nothing against the people working for these companies but, in my opinion, Entertainment Rewards Ticketmaster and Ticketweb make the whole situation look very unethical.

It's not fradulent nor criminal just very unethical!

Basically I do understand where all of the customers are coming from. In this situation it  is both the consumer and companies fault. The company is one of the more shady companies I have come to known and am ashamed that I have been beat down so low that I have to work for this place. I am one of those people who take your calls all day long five days a week. Believe me, not something I want to do but in this economy it is the only place I can get a full time job. I have come to realize that no amount of money is worth this hassel so I will no longer be working on part of Entertainment after this upcoming week. First I want the customers to know that 1) They do not even talk with employees of Entertainment whatsoever. There is no number available to reach them. Seriously, smart company... You will never speak with an actuall employee of Entertainment. 2) They deal with a call center of "low life" strike three employees who only work there because they can't get a job anywhere else. 3) Rebuttals are a must and there are a LOT so KEEP PUSHING! 4) No matter how hard you do push you will NEVER see a full refund, EVER! But do push just so you can get more than what you were offered. 5) Anything dealing with ticketmaster (As it is OWNED by Entertainment) needs to be viewed carefully! Just bascailly stay AWAY from the 25 dollar cash back award. That's where you get screwed. 6) You most likely did sign up for all of this but I 100% KNOW you were tricked into it unitentionally without the realization. The way it is set up is so unethical yet legal. For instance... in order to be placed into a program you would need to check a box. Except if you don't check the box you WILL still be placed in the program because you didnt check NO THANKS which is slyly away from the main focal point of the page. So why even have the box to click if they are going to screw you anyway. As I said, legal yet unethical. Horrible. And it's a shame that I have to give up a full time 9-5 job just because 97 out of ever 100 calls I receive are from all of you who call in telling us off and swearing at us and making threats. If you would just be calm and talk things WOULD get handled easier except you WILL NEVER receive all of your refund. They are "HOLDING" you all accountable. I just can't take working for such people anymore. While they "steal" all of your money I have to listen to you all swear at me for something I have no controll over. In the end... they get your money, I loose out on a job and the Entertainment Publishing Inc. goes on. Fair huh.....

$15.00 an hr------ WE WISH

AUTHOR: Chris - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, August 05, 2005

First off, Entertainment Rewards is not a scam or a rip-off as you people claim it to be.

Just because you chose A) to be greedy and not read the NOT fine print when you sign up is our problem why? B) You either deleted or just decided to ignore the mails we send you is our problem why? C) Your child or a neighbor or a relative used your card and signed you up is our problem why? D) Just because it has take you over 3 months to call us when our number is stated on the bill is our problem why?

We don't make $15.00 an hr and we sure as hell don't telemarket.

The public takes no responsibilty for thier lack of paying attention when they are on the net. So let's clarify the legalities here.
Anytime you are required to place your email address is twice and either click yes or agree.. it's as legal as signing you name on the dotted line. Secondly, you only have 60 days to dispute charges, if you pay those charges 2 months in a row..guess what you do then authorize them as valid charges.

As for you people who feel it is necessary to cuss, threatened and pretty much wish us dead. You really all need to take responsibility for your own actions and except the fact that you were for the most part an idiot.

Not a one of us working for this company deserve the abuse we take because you people have either not paid attention or just didn't check your accts
and we are not rude, we are tired of the general public making excuses for themselves and being beligerent and presuming we have a right to put up with this... sorry we don't.

Most of you act like we line our pockets with your money.. where is any of your accountability in this. How many times I hear well I saw this charge on my last 3 statements or I only check my credit card once every six months or I saw the emails and just deleted them because I thought they were junk. IS THIS OUR FAULTS??????? and you people who actually printed coupons and then clearly tell us on the phone, I didn't sign up for this... who is trying to rip who off.

Wish I could tell my gas company or my cable company... yeah I signed up for your offer by mistake... ignored your billing and BTW I want the money I paid ya back. CLUE: This is a membership fee not a usage fee.. just like signing up for cable TV... regardless if you watch it our not.. you still signed up for it and are responsible for the charges.

Maybe those of us at Entertainment should call your places of employment and threaten you.. call you every name in the book, threatened to kill you..which btw is classified as a terrorist threat and can be taken to the law if we were such jerks and then we would see how all of you would like it.

Except the fact that you a) didn't read all the print.. which btw is not in fine print. b) except the fact that you rushed through things and you know what I may have actually done this and probably most important c) you were after the cash back and forgot about it.

All of you seem to get your cancellation letters just fine through your email.. do you ever ask yourself well if I recieved this one... I MIGHT HAVE overlooked the others.

Quit making the reps pay for your mistakes.

SCAM ALERT! ..gardless of what their employees say!

AUTHOR: Neil - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, July 31, 2005

Regardless of what their employees say, this is a scam. Look at the number of people who were fooled into purchasing this fake service! No one wants to pay money each month to get a pizza coupon or an oil change coupon that doesn't even save you money! You can get much better deals just cutting out the sunday paper coupons. What a scam!

I work for Entertainment Pub. Inc. This is in NO way a scam when the customer gos to ticketmaster.com thay buy ther tickets on the conformation page they are then ask if that would like to recive eather 10 or 25 dollars " cash back reward" on the next order of tickets from ticket master at that time if that did not want to enroll that just leave the page

if thay would like to look into the offer they then have to click on the next button they are then taken to a page that explaines everything to them (if the customer does not wat the program at this all thay had to do was close the page)

it also lets them know that by entering thier e-maill address 2 time it will give ticket master authorization to send ther name address and credit card info to Entertainment rewards for benifits proccessing we then sent out the first of 3 e-mail that letting them know about the account and how to get back to our page

all customer are under a 30 day free trail pierod so the customer can cancel at any time. I also want u to know that we in no way make 15$ an hour nor will we refund just because you ask to talk to a supervisor.

How to Get a Refund From Entertainment Rewards - The people who sold their souls to the devil for $15 an hour telemarketing this crap should be shot.

AUTHOR: Neil - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, June 28, 2005

First of all, it is very tough to get past their frontline. The people who sold their souls to the devil for $15 an hour telemarketing this crap should be shot.

WHEN YOU CALL:

1. Tell them you did not authorize the charge. Tell them they charged you for a service you did not know you had.

2. They will counter saying, when you ordered you clicked and blah blah authorizing this. Tell them no you didn't. Don't let them try and force you into anything.

3. Finally ask to speak to the supervisor. Be firm but polite. The lady I was talking to put me on hold for about two minutes and then came back saying, "Ok my supervisor has authorized me to refund you the money." Ya right, like she even asked a supervisor.

I got back my $14 a couple days later.
