Bobby and Steves Auto World Damaged My Vehicle and fined fradulent Police Report West St Paul Minnesota

( theft - reckless driving - careless driving and 5th degree assault)

Feb 25 Made appt with CarMax for March 4th @ 815a.

Arrived at Carmax March 4th @ 0730a. Was advised the appointment was for 3/5 @ 0830a - scheduled appt with Matt from Carmax through 3rd party Service(repair pal) at Bonfe Auto for 830a. Drove there arrived at 0820a and was told by Tom that the online scheduling with Carmax was not valid. He could not help me.

Went through Repair Pal and then called made 0100p appt with Bobby and Steve's in Minneapolis (man stated he could maybe look at my vehicle around 1p). So I started to look else where.

Found closer B&S's on 1820 S Robert Street - advised to bring car in and they could look at it. 651-409-9116 or 651-455-2788 with Colby (older white guy with beard)

Arrived 0845-0905a, spoke with older man. He took info (car and address) I advised I had some knocking in the engine and grinding on the brakes. Explained, I know I need my brakes done but my main concern is the knocking noise coming from the engine. Its been making sounds for 3 weeks now.

Left B&S's at 9:16a - arrived at African American hair braiding - continued to work on my computer for work. Informed they would do a diagnosis.  

09:53a, B&S's called and advised the noise was coming from the engine and I should take car back to Carmax or Hyundai because I have power train issues. Let them know that I did not want my brakes done (at the time he was doing a "diagnosis" not actual work). At this time he quoted me 417 so I declined. Advised my extended warranty info. Said I would call and check with Hyundai.

At this time I was getting washed under the sink and could not make any calls. The blow-dryer was on in the shop so I was waiting to get my hair dry before I made any calls.

10:35a - Called Hyundai Inver Grove and was told by woman the warranty was only for original owners 952-449-2000

10:43a - called Carmax to confirm extended warranty. Said that B&S's would be able to preform services because my extended warranty covers the engine.

10:45a - I called B&S's again to find and additional information and advised Carmax said they could work on my engine under my CNA extended warranty. Said that they had started on my brakes which I then said I would be on the way once I was done inside the shop. asked B7S's to call CNA again to confirm what needs to be done next. Since they have already started on my services I wanted them to continue. At this time I knew I needed a rental car to avoid missing work another day.

12:28p called B&S's and asked them what CNA had said and to see if what the time frame would be for them having my car because the main issue was still not done. Said they called and they were informed of having to tear down the full engine then have an inspector come out and take a look. the full process would take a few days because have to wait on a approved technician to view the malfunction and approve if they would cover the expenses.  

Left the hair shop at 1:27p. to speak about the brakes and where the miscommunication came from.

When I arrived there was a new person at the desk (Erik Coleman - Store Manager). He then advised that I needed to pay for the brakes and take my car elsewhere. All while I did not have a problem with him keeping my car I was more concerned about the mode of transportation I would have when I leave the shop. Also converse to get a rental because they said they had not started looking at the engine just yet.

1:53 - called Carmax - Spoke w Matt, I wanted to see if he could schedule me a rental because B&S's had not confirmed when they would - said that B&S would be able to get an authorization code from CNA for my rental. Also asked if I bring in my car to them if they would be able to fix with B&S's knowing the issue. Recommended to have B&S continue to fix car since I was already there and I am eligble to get a rental.

Was told by B&S the process again.

2:09 called Carmax to confirm what B&S told me. Said that was the process but I would incur more fees if I bought it back to them.

between 2:13 & 2:20 B&S explained to me again what they had did to my car. How they fixed the brakes knowing I told them not too and how they already spoke with CNA several times concerning my vehicle and I should just take it back to Carmax!

2:15p called CNA. was told I was given the correct procedure and once B&S's contact them I could get a rental car because I was covered for all engine work. They could set up a claim once the techs call and send their quote over for the car engine tear down and repair.

Between I saw my keys on the counter. I took them. I was still waiting on the guy at the desk to let me know about the rental but he was adamin of me just paying for the breaks.

2:20p. the guy over heard me confirming that B&S's NEVER CALLED CNA and Carmax and myself was the last persons to call about my agreement number. At this time I called my mother and sit inthe car to see what I was going to do.

While I was in the car - trying to get people out of my business I was researching negelance of the mechanic and reading google reviews about the company (attached). stating they work on cars and not give notice. all while the white man was knocking on my window getting ancy. Advised I would speak to him in a sec and thats when he demanded my keys. After it being communicated I've had them for about 10 mins now. Advised I was still on the phone. Until he said he wanted the d**n keys I reversed to get closer to the B&S's door to try and state my case. He beleived I was pulling off and then started to beat on my glass window to break it. I was yelling from the car that I was getting out and I would pay until he would not stop. I reversed out of the parking lot because at this time he was scaring me. When I put the car in drive to avoid hittin the white man he then decided to hop on my car. WE were already at the Roberts corner when he hopped on my windsheild when I saw cars coming to avoid a collision I was looking for the closest lot. WIth the snow banks being in the way plus him on my windsheild calling me out my name. Asking the cars on the side of us to call the cops I hit the first right on Lonbarch st and let him off of my car. He got off still banding on my hood and window sheild so at that time I just pulled off.

I wanted to get home because I couldnot beleive a person would put his own life at risk like that. When I arrived at home I then googled the matter because I know what I had done wrong. WHile researching how to handle the matter office Foresburg called and I cotinued to comply telling him my story hoping he would show some sympathy. However he was more concerned of me turining myself in avoiding my questions. I then let him know what happen. He then stated in a unconcerned tone that an officer would come find me and he would put out a warrant for my arrest. I then proceeded to end the call because he was not help and prepared for my court date/ because at the time i understood I was wrong for picking up the phone and I could have a lawyer speak to the judge.

Then called CNA to see of the B&S's even called the number to get the procedure info together and was told they did not call with the number given and they could not provide records until subpoenaed.
