Blackwelder Industries online furniture store ripoff Statesville North Carolina

Two years ago, I placed an order in late May for a bed for my daughter's birthday in August. The Web site stated that most deliveries take 8-10 weeks on custom production designs.

A week later, I received a credit card slip in the mail to sign and return; now the stated production time has increased to 8-14 weeks.

I signed the credit card slip and returned it; this was a very unusual procedure for e-commerce, since I had already entered my credit card number online.

The credit card was charged in FULL (another unusual procedure, since deposits are required but balances are paid when the goods are shipped).

When 8 weeks had passed, I contacted Blackwelders to find the status of my order, only to be told that it would be two more weeks.

This was repeated on a couple more instances.

At the end of August, I had yet another conversation with a Blackwelders rep who reassured me that I would receive my bed within two weeks.

At the beginning of September, when two weeks had passed and no plans had even been made for delivery, I sent an ultimatum either deliver the bed (more than 16 weeks after I placed my order) or refund my money.

Since the bed was still not delivered, I canceled the order and asked for a refund.

I was then told that since I was the one who cancelled the order, I would not receive a refund due to a restocking fee.

I went to court, and won a judgement against Blackwelders, but apparently I cannot get them to pay me!
Stay clear of this online retailer ... they are the black sheep of the otherwise fine North Carolina furniture industry!!!
