Was contacted by a Angel Escobedo of Goldman Financial - claiming they were part of Goldman Sachs. soon after, I was contacted by a Aaron Rian claiming he was a regional director for Goldman and Angel's boss.

He told me he was a previous home builder - that was probably a lie.  He knew I was in the construction business.  He promised me a $3,000 "starter" progrom because I had previous defaults on MCA's and sent a contract that said Goldman would deposit $3,000 into my business checking account with daily payments of $110.00.  Once 10 payments were made, he would move me up  to another program and eventually get me into a long term finance program with monthly payments.  He claimed again that they were part of Goldman Sachs.

What this was -  a complete fraudulent scheme to take a front end fee they call an adminstrative fee of 10% of the loan amount ($3,000) and never fund the customer.  Their contract is very underhanded and states that their fee is not contingent upon approving funding;  the customer never is advised of this and they make excuses why the money is never funded without telling you that they just stole your front end fee.

Verbal representations are made for this funding - this is promissory estoppel under the law and can be prosecuted as a verbal contract- and a breach of that contract.

Because the amount is small, they don't expect you to proceed with litigation.  I might surprise them.

This is just a scam operation. There is no real office, no company, and the people you were talking to probably don't exist. It's just a version of the Nigerian scam. Most likely the whole operation is located in a foreign country and is operated by professional cybercriminals. Good luck even figuring out where to send the paperwork for using them. And there are more red flags than a Communist parade. 1) No lender would cold call you and offer unsecured business loans. 2) Legitimate lenders don't require up front fees. 3) Obviously fake prestigious addresses. All of them are virtual offices. No actual company name registered anywhere. 4) Nobody in their right mind would lend $3000. Just the administrative overhead involved in collecting that would greatly exceed the potential profit. Not to mention, a business that needs to borrow $3000 is basically insolvent. 5) Ripping off a famous brand.
