This was an outright Amazon Automation scam! Brian Richardson (if he is even a real person) reached out to me in early November 2023 by phone stating it was due to a direct referral from Amazon. He said it was to help get me moving along in the process of launching an Amazon store.
He emailed me a video of an Amazon store account with current sales and profits and we reviewed it together. We were supposed to meet via video on Google Meets while reviewing but he claimed to be sick so I excused him. He really put in the time to build rapport with me and he was very personable over the phone.
He explained the different types of products with high profit margins, best times of the year for sales, how to scale the business and how it would be a good business opportunity as an additional stream of income that would only require a few hours a week of dedication with the assistance of an account manager.
Initally he said the store was to generate $3,000-$5,000/mo, could be scaled up to $10,000/mo and would be completely solvent with 4 months and the store could be sold for a profit.
A contract and invoice was sent for me to review for an "Amazon FBA buildout" storefront, warehousing and management with a one time fee of $15,000. They would be responsible for creating and launching the store, assisting with determing inventory and managing the store.
When I inquired how to pay he suggested by cash (via wire) or credit card and it could be broken up into payments. I sent $6,000 on 11/27/2023 via wire, $5,250 via wire on 12/4/2023 and the final payment of $3,750 via credit card on 12/12/2023. I have not been able to communicate with him since mid-December 2023 and have not heard from him since.
The last time I reached out by phone was 1/2/2024 and texted the only contact number I have yet no response. I received an email on 1/4/2024 stating he was sick with covid and was in quarantine but his team would be assisting with getting my store launched the week of January 12, 2024. As of 3/14/2024 I still have not heard from anyone.
It costs nothing to start an Amazon seller central account, even though I was told that an engineer "built" the store. Amazon only charges a monthly fee. They took my money and never delivered on anything.
This was a total ripoff!! I did not gain anything from this ordeal! Always do your research on companies before you give your hard earned dollars away!!
