Sunrise, FloridaI bought a new refrigerator from Brandsmart USA in April 2003. In August the refrigerator stopped cooling. I called brandsmart to send out a service man and it took four days, I eventually called GE directly. Everything in my fridge went bad and after 4 days they came and chaged some part.
One week later The fridge stopped working again. This time they came and replaced the same parts in the back of the fridge. By this time I asked that the fridge be replaced since it is showing signs that there is an ungoing problem which is probably due to design or manufacturing defects. There response to to offer to sell me a extended warranty.
After this second repair, two weeks passed and the fridge was having a problem again.....this time it would not dispense anything from the icemaker.......another service call...missed hours from work......they repalced a bunch of part.....I continued to insist to GE that I needed the fridge replaced and I cannot keep going through the same problem.........They insist in customer relations that the unit has to be deemed unrepairable before it can be replaced and only there tech department can do that.
Turns out the Tech is a contractor is is more than happy to come out and keep repairing the refriderator since he gets paid a comission.
Well I have gone through my fourth service call in six weeks . Just last week the dispenser stopped working again..and one again the same TECH came and repalced parts, tried to encourage me to buy a extended warranty contract.......and insited he will be wasting his time to call GE tech department to get further instructions or to discuss the ongoing problems.
He claims it happens everyday and they are not going to replace it....the tech seemed to be in collusion with the company and he was serving his own best interests by inisting on not calling in.even though I had been told by the customer care people that a not will be placed on the service call to have the tech call in.......all this time.....I am still insisting on getting the fridge replaced and customer care is still unwilling to entertain me......
I will be stuck with a defective refirigerator after my 1 year manufacturers warranty expires and then i will have to start footing the bill for ongoing reapirs to this unit.which has already exhibited the signs that it willl continue to have problems......
Please please please..anyone who reads this......beware of GE products..........and I might add...beware of brandsmart USA whose only customer service department is a black phoen in some room in the back which they tell you to pick up to reach customer service.
