Ripoff Report Verified Safe

I went to Lowe's Hardware and purchased a General Electric Side by Side Refrigerator. I thought I was purchasing a 2003 model being I was purchasing my product in March of 2003. I had to have my refrigerator special order because of the color. It would take a couple of weeks. Got the refrigerator ahead of schedule. Thought everything was great. Three months later the motor goes on the ice maker. Call GE to set up service.

The service tech calls and states that my appliance is not under warranty because it was manufactored in 2001!! I call GE and they say that I am under warranty. I ask about the manufactoring date of the applicance I just paid $1500 for 3 months ago and they tell me it was made in 2001. I then call Lowe's and ask them why the sold me a fridge that is 2 years old. They had no ideal that the appliance was that old. The store and I go back and forth with GE about the selling of products that have sat in their warehouse for years and the want to take no responsiblity.

The store and I go back and worth with GE for several days. They even called and asked me did I get the ice maker fixed and I said yeah and they say what is the problem. I tell them that I paid 2003 prices for merchandise that it 2 years old. I could have went to a discount appliance store and got it for less than what I paid being that it is that old. They say they can't help me that they usually have products that old. Then another rep from GE calls and says that their product is in such high demand that they couldn't possible have a product in the warehouse that old.

Hench to say, they still are not owning up to the fact that they ship this old ass products to store with out them knowing how old they are and have people selling that S---!!! It is an attempt to defraud the public for their hard earned dollars. Buyers beware. This is the second manufactor that has sold me a refrigerator that was no good.

Rediculous

That is the most rediculous thing i have ever heard. That is lowes trying to pass the buck. They recieved those units knowing full well what the model and serial numbers are which will tell you what the year dates are.
