The warranty on tires at costco is a joke. It is systemically designed to invalidate your warrentee. If you can not provide definative proof of rotating and balancing your tires you are out of luck. My bridgestone tires had a 65k, 5 year warranty and were worn to the cords in only 2 years and 20k miles. I paid 700 dollars for tires and i should have received atleast a 50% discount on my repeat business.

I could not provide proof from my shop so they would not honor their responsibility. Again, costco is implementing unethical business practices inorder to rape its customers.  Dont shop at costco, because they clearly have no moral compass,  and are only motivated by greed.

YOU did not read the information given to you WHEN you purchased your tires. IF YOU do not follow the terms and conditions of the warranty then YOU only have YOURSELF to blame. As the previous poster stated, THIS IS STANDARD!!! Perhaps YOU need to just accept responsibility!!! YOU had a part to play in all of this besides the driving. YOU first FAILED to educate yourself as to WHAT your responsibilities were. Second, YOU compound YOUR situation because Im 100% sure once YOU were told NO YOU made a scene. Its SO MUCH easier on YOU to make a scene instead of admitting YOU SCREWED UP!!! Lastly, YOU have slandered and defamed a reputable business due ONLY to YOUR INABILITY TO READ!!!!

I certainly hope that THEY find this post. THEY need to teach people like yourself a lesson. YOU DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO EXPECT YOUR LIES TO BE PROTECTED UNDER YOUR FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS!!! I suggest that you review a civics class again. Then once completed, maybe YOU can learn HOW to be a responsible adult. This entire situation is due to YOUR CHOICES as to what roads YOU drive on. HOW aggressively YOU drive, and how much you take care of your tires. NONE of this is on the manufacturer or the shop that sold the tires to YOU. The warranty holder ONLY wants to see PROOF that YOU are being a responsible adult with YOUR toys. IF YOU cannot provide this proof, then how in ANY stretch of the imagination can you expect them to honor a warranty if YOU did not do your part?

What this REALLY sounds like to me is that YOU want ANYONE else to blame because YOU KNOW YOU SCREWED UP!!! Much easier to lie online so people don't have to see your face and KNOW that you are lying. GROW UP!!!! FYI:: Costco is NOT the warranty holder. THAT is a third party so Costco isn't directly involved so there would be no instances of fraud. But THAT is something MOST customers do not know. So YOU have unfairly blasted Costco for something THAT IS NOT EVEN IN THIER POWER TO MAKE A DESCION ON!!! The third party warranty holder is the one who has asked of YOU for proof of maintenance. Must be nice to know that YOU screw up even when YOU are whining that others want to see proof.

Standard...

AUTHOR: Robert - ()

Apparently you have never looked at an automotive warranty in your life.  What you are describing is STANDARD.   Not only with tires but with just about everything else.  For example, if you have a new car with an engine warranty.  That warranty requires you to do the scheduled maintenance.  If you have an engine issue and can't prove you did the oil changes every 3000(or what ever) miles...your claim will be very soundly denied.

As to why your shop couldn't provide proof.  Why not?  Do they not have records of services performed?  My shop has a complete record of EVERYTIME I have been in and what was done.  Of course on the flip side why would they need to provide proof.  When ever you go in for service you get a report/receipt of what was done.  How come you didn't keep that?

However, your claim really looses ground when you start saying you are willing to take 50%.  If you truly did everything by the warranty one would figure you would stick to the full amount you are entitled to.  So perhaps it is a case that the shop can't provide you documentation because that was never done.
