On June 16, 2014, I wired $17,750 to National Power Supply for a remanufactured Cummins 903 V8 engine to replace the engine in my husband's tractor that had failed.  Ken (no last name provided), the representative, at NPS assured my husband that they had three of these engines in crates and ready to go.  He quoted different prices for each and we went with the mid-priced option.

An e-mail containing the invoice outlining the particulars was sent to my in-laws address on June 10, 2014.  The estimated lead/build time was 2-3 weeks and the transit time to ship was 4-6 days.  We expected the engine by July 9, 2014 so that we could continue on with our farming operation.

When the date for delivery had passed, my husband tried to call NPS at least 6 times per day to find out what the status was.  NPS did not answer their phones.  It was as if they recognized his number and didn't pick up.  They were all friendly and accommodating until they got the money.  They stressed that they didn't want credit cards as payment because there is too much fraud associated with them.  Ha!  What a joke!  NPS are the fraudsters!!

When my husband was finally lucky enough to get through to Ken, he told him that the engines were not in crates ready to be sent, but that the engine had to be built in Indianapolis and it would take a little longer because the guy that was going to build the engine was in the hospital with kidney stones!  Likely story!  They refused to give a number for the place in Indianapolis so we could call.

Repeated attempts to contact the company by phone were fruitless.  They have not bothered to contact us to let us know what the hold up is.  I sent a certified letter to the physical address of NPS stating that I wanted a refund in full because they have violated the Federal Trade Commission's 30-day Rule for letting consumers know there is a delay and why.

I did get back the certified confirmation card from the US Postal Service dated August 18, 2014 and it appears to have been signed by a Connie or Corrine Mason.  I have heard nothing back from them and have received no refund.  I suspect my letter probably went directly into their shredder without being opened.

With all of the other folks who have filed reports on the Rip Off Report site against National Power Supply, I think we all need to band together and see if the Federal Trade Commission will file a class action law suit against these thieves and try to get our money back.  I would like to believe there is strength in numbers.

I'm kicking myself for handing over my hard-earned cash to some unscrupulous crooks who are probably living the high life off the backs of hard-working folks just trying to make an honest living.
