Duane Collins & K-Nor Property Management Southwestern Assembly of God professor deceives young single mother Waxahachie Texas

I moved to Texas from Arizona.  I contacted Dr Duane Collins after being referred by my cousin who knew he had many rentals.  I wired $1150 into his account for a 2 bed/1 bath unit (part of a duplex) before I even moved to the area because he said if I didn't, he would not hold the unit for me.  Because he claims to be a Christian, I fully expected that when I arrived in Ennis, I would be able to unload my household goods into a clean house which I had paid to rent.  Upon my arrival, I was extremely disappointed to discover that the ceiling was leaking, the place was filthy, there were holes and cracks in the walls, there were dead roaches everywhere, the baseboards were not even attached to the walls, the A/C was not working, and the premises were unsanitary and uninhabitable.  I even started to clean it but then got so upset that I had to pay for such a nasty place that I stopped cleaning.  He was in the house over the weekend prior to my arrival on Monday, September 1, 2014, and would have seen all of the damage and filth throughout the house and yet he had no problem with taking my money and renting the house to me in those conditions.  I had to return the truck to U-Haul so had no choice but to unload my belongings into the premises until I could make other arrangements.  I paid for another truck and had help from several Christians in the area to get my household goods out of the property.

I tried to return the key to him however, to compound the matter, on Sunday, Sept 7 at 11:35 a.m., he responded to my text refusing to meet with me and accept the key back and told me to "just throw your key away" because "I have a key to the duplex".  He also said that he would not refund my rent nor deposit of $1150.  If the premises had been in habitable conditions, meaning sanitary and not in disrepair, and I had been the one to just change my mind, then I could totally understand not getting back my money.  However, I took pictures and have several witnesses who are willing to testify that they saw the premises as described.
